GPU Acceleration Doesn't Appear to Work
Posted by , Last modified by on 19 July 2012 08:50 AM

If you aren't seeing an improvement in rendering time, there could be a couple of causes.
Here is a list of the ones that we know of:

You are using MacOSX 10.6.8 with an ATI Radeon 5870 HD card.
Fix: MacOSX 10.6.8 does not provide proper drivers for this card. You will need to upgrade to 10.7.4 Lion.

MacOSX 10.7.x Lion is installed, but I am not getting the performance.
Fix: Run software updates and update to at least MacOSX 10.7.4. Earlier versions of MacOSX 10.7.x may not have the drivers either.

I enabled GPU Rendering, but my application is still rendering slowly. QuickTime Player 7 seems to work, though...
Fix: Restart your Application - if that doesn't help, restart the computer.

QuickTime Player X doesn't work
Fix: Install QuickTime Player 7 and use that instead.

Please email us if you experience some difficulty with the software. We will do our best to troubleshoot the problem.
